William Morris Mixed Patterns Crepe de Chine Silk Scarf

Item# MM80054184

The William Morris Mixed Patterns Crepe de Chine Silk Scarf unites Jasmine (1872) and Blackthorn (1892), two block-printed wallpaper patterns by William Morris (1834-1896) who was associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, and a founder of the British Arts & Crafts Movement. The acclaimed designer, artist, and writer was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. Morris derived profound inspiration from the English countryside, which informed his lush visual vernacular of floral and foliate motifs. He designed highly decorative wallpapers, textiles, furniture, stained glass, and books in abundance as the leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement in Britain. This scarf is made of 100% Silk crêpe de chine and measures 64" x 18". Dry clean only.
